BLACKBOARD CONNECT-ED
Please make sure that we have the most updated phone numbers and email address for you. Blackboard Connect-Ed is a platform that allows us to send families messages via phone calls, email, and text messages. We can let you know if there is an emergency on campus, if there are upcoming school events/activities, and reminders for early dismissals, etc. All text messages from us will begin with MULTNOMAH NEWS! All email will say Multnomah Street Elementary School as the sender.
Please note that the district WILL send you a lot of messages. If you opt out of their messages, you are also opting out of ours. There’s no way to separate the two.
For parents who want to opt back in to receiving calls, they should call 855 502-7867 from the phone on which they were previously receiving calls. To opt back in to receiving text messages, text "START LAUSD" to 23177.
CLASS DOJO
We often post reminders, announcements, and pictures on Class Dojo. If you have not joined MULTNOMAH STREET ELEMENTARY’S group, please do so. Please do not send teachers messages in Class Dojo as teachers will not be checking Dojo and responding during school hours. If something is urgent, call the main office and leave a message. The best way to get a hold of any staff member is via email. (See directory.)
EMAILS
All emails sent to staff members will be responded to within 24-48 hours Please be mindful that you are not sending daily messages to staff as time spent responding to messages is time taken away from planning for instruction and supporting our students. We want to address your needs and concerns, however, sometimes answers to questions are addressed via our Class Dojo posts, emails from Principal, and text messages from Connected Ed. Please read all post and correspondences sent home thoroughly, If something is urgent or pressing, send a hand-written note or call the main office.
COLORED PLASTIC FOLDER
Upon enrollment, every student will receive a home-school communication folder according to the color of their program. Please check this folder daily for any correspondences that might be sent home by the school or by the teacher. Most letters, flyers, and information will be sent home on Mondays. However, sometimes information that is time sensitive might require immediate distribution which might not necessarily fall on a Monday. Please return all forms that need to be returned in a timely manner. Teach your child how to turn in required documents.
